It's Gonna Rain Parts I/II are my favorites but a lot of this is way mellower and great to chill to.

Great outing from a great dude. Different kind of chill zone.

Going to check out the Dirty River Boys next weekend with the missus.

You can skip the first minute, but this song's a barnburner.

Not sure if the music will speak to many here, but I put together a playlist on Spotify of country/alt-country/americana that I really dig. It's about 6 hours worth of tunes and only really works when put on shuffle.

If these cuts from Italian glam/bovver boys GIUDA don't have you stompin' your feet, you don't have a pulse.

Who thought slowing down old gabber/hardcore tracks would make some insanely sexy and dirty dance music

Finally listened to Reflektor and eeehhhhh. I'll give it another go, they've earned that, but it didn't do a whole lot for me.

I got turned on to Canadian country artist Corb Lund a few years ago with his 'Horse Soldier! Horse Soldier!' album. A concept album with themes on history, war, general life as a soldier etc. He's playing a free noon show a few towns over this weekend. I'm pretty stoked to check it out and being able to bring the kids is a huge plus.

Here are two off his new album 'Cabin Fever'

Bought a couple songs for the first time in a while (since buying the Daft Punk album a long time ago). With the upcoming Inside Llewyn Davis Coen Brothers folk music movie, I wanted to start hearing some of that music. The duet of Justin Timberlake and Carey Mulligan singing Five Hundred Miles is really nice. I love this stuff. I think Timberlake said his grandfather would have been so happy hearing one of his songs on a country music radio station.

The other song I heard for the first time during GTAV's closing credits and I absolutely love it. It's called Old Love / New Love by Twin Shadow. Fun song.

Also grabbed a live recording of Mike Zito singing Hold Me Now. Like that a bunch too.

From the Gravity soundtrack, I grabbed "Shenzhou" which was the song playing when that particular escape pod is plummeting through Earth's atmosphere. I remembered that music being fairly epic in the movie and had to have the tune. It's not bad.

Tyranny & Mutation, Secret Treaties.

Any band's second and third albums are inevitably the best.

I don't know why I never heard of these guys until today but my Uncle just sent me this link and I was blown away. What an incredible band! Beautiful (might be the wrong word actually) arrangements and fascinating songwriting. I will definitely be spending some time looking into them more seriously.

Well, that was... that was something.

My current playlist consists mostly of old albums from my university days (NIN, Rammstein, Tool, Our Lady Peace, David Usher, Fuel, Taproot, Massive Attack, Portishead, Puscifer, Silverchair, King Cobb Steelie, Rob Zombie, Swollen Members)

More "recent" additions: Lacuna Coil - Karmacode, Grand Magus - Iron Will, Dead Confederate - Wrecking ball

The only things I'm listening to right now that are comparatively recent releases are Madchild's solo album "Dopesick", and this newish band I stumbled across called "Dead Station".

Dead Station has their album up in a pay what you want format here

Here is one of my favourite tracks from a relatively unknown band:
