Alert! Alert! All UK RnB/Soul fans....
I'm looking for Q Tips albums. I know for a fact there was a big studio yellow album with SYSJLFM on it and I think there's a live album. Can't find jack shit on US iTunes except for some BBC concert album.
This band featured Paul Young and, in 1980, were 'the best live band on the circuit...'
I'm thinking maybe UK iTunes has a better selection. If anyone has e versions of any of these albums please PM me.
This band were Mr E Nor Mouse, in the day, and I loved them to death. 10 piece soul bands were just the absolute shit. Went to see their final concert in The Strand, London and immediately went on to go see Eddie and the Hot Rods somewhere else in London on the same night. Good times indeed.
I think I went to see The Chords the week before who were also great. For those who remember the mod scene in 1979, I'm off to see Secret Affair this December in Birmingham UK. Now they bring back the memories. Parkas, Lambrettas, fighting in the town square with Rockers and Punks......

Only new music I've listened to lately is only new to me, "The ArchAndroid" by Janelle Monae. Looking forward to her upcoming album.

As suggested by Thirsty Man, I checked out The Chords. Yes, yes, YES. Great stuff. If you like The Jam be sure to give them a listen. There's precious little of them on Spotify (there's a doo wop group on there of the same name), but even that is damned good. Tracking down more by them now. Thanks, Andy!

Sharing one of my favorites from Mass Effect 3 for those that may not have had the pleasure of playing the game. Clint Mansell is a genius. The entire score for the game is fantastic so be sure to check it out if you like this one.

My underpants just caught fire as I have been listening to the great Wilko Johnson.
Apparently, while everyone was watching The Stones in Hyde Park, London he was smashing out a set in Southend, his old stomping ground, and it was a corker!!
Still not sick enough to stop gigging (dying of pancreatic cancer). Long may he continue.

I've been listening to a lot of Janelle Monae, who's album "Electric Lady" just came out on Tuesday. I was a big fan of "The Archandroid," her last album. It was that fun R&B stuff with a bizarre sci-fi elements. The new album is really good too.
And hey, she's from Kansas City, KS! Local girl made good!

I'm really liking Portastatic at the moment, particularly the albums "Bright Ideas" and "Be Still Please". Awesome stuff. It was the erstwhile side but now main musical project of Superchunk's Mac McCaughan who is also the manager of Merge Records (Arcade Fire etc.). Very uplifting music with clever lyrics.

KaRRRma Police cover by Rotem Shefy (vocalist) and Leat Sabbah (cellist/arranger), with a neat Middle Eastern vibe.
Pump Up The Jam cover by Rotem Shefy. God, this woman is adorable.
Check out her official channel for more goodness.

The opening track is amazing, reminds me a lot of late period Swans. Perfect autumn melancholy record.

It's October...I'm listening to White Zombie - La Sexorcisto: Devil Music Volume 1. With audio clips from Night of the Living Dead and song names like "I Am Legend" and "Spiderbaby (Yeah Yeah Yeah)" it's perfect to get in the mood for the Halloween season.
