That's fair, White. I need to read the start of it to see how much shots were actually fired first. I don't think it matters who fired first as much as who drops the nukes first.

And then, say, GL posts, "I'm sick to death of baby killing liberal asstards passively aggressively sniping at common sense lifers all the time "

See, I don’t think I started that fictional fight there. I started the conversation but GL started the fight. I don't know if that makes sense.

In the instance earlier, I was just shocked that Ken, of all people, gets gunned down do posting the very VERY small snipe he did. I don't think you go to DEFCON 1 cuz of that.

Edit; Ok I re-read the thread. Jj observed that a fictional character was being portrayed as a "right wing angry at the poor type". I think, subjectively speaking of course, that Repo overreacted to that and went to battle stations too fast blaming this website. Then GL's first instinct is to leave. I think there should be several gears to the engine of conversation and interpretation and, in THIS instance, these two FATtie brothers of ours seemed to be unable to downshift to a slower speed

But your John Oliver example is not what happened here at all. In that example it's just discussing a point and GL's given response would be too much.

Here though, a heated discussion between two simmered down, then Ken came in with nothing to add but rip the scab off in a casual way as if we all agree. Folks jumped on it (via likes). So, sure the right leaning folks (GL) are now rattled. They were just labelled a bunch of terrible things _for_no_reason_ other then lols.

But you're making it sounds like "likes" are something other than certain people wanting to suck kens perfectly normal dick. You're reading the worst possible intentions behind a simple "thumb" and that's it.

And I don't think they were actually labelled. That was just a false interpretation of a forum post.

I didn't think fellatio was involved, I could've missed that, but how were those likes to be perceived?

Either way the idea of tearing down one side was brought back up simply for kicks and appeared to be supported.

But why did he snipe at all? What was the point? I don't agree that it's the side that goes nuclear first is the loser. This makes it sound like baiting and sniping is ok and "let's see who flinches".

Are we attempting a discussion or having a game?
