After recently commenting to Metalface that I'm likely done buying board games....I may back this...
That video is great. Love the scowls and fists as they describe the game. Plus, they got quotes from all the right people, IMHO...Rick Priestley, John Blanche..and Digestor the ghoul!
and this...
"METAL PUNKS FROM THE STREETS OF OAKLAND! DUNGEON DEGENERATES is by Sean Äaberg & Eric Radey. Childhood partners in crime who grew up on old school role-playing & war games & love old Games Workshop products in particular - as an art form. They grew up playing Call of Cthulhu games run by Charlie Crank. They worked for Chaosium as warehouse slaves. They were in the most chaotic Noise Metal Punk band in Oakland & played ritualistic shows trying to summon demons & hordes of rats. They know that the old ways are best & they are going to drain enough blood to bring them back with DUNGEON DEGENERATES!"
This is the board game that follows DCC...and I love this sort of fantasy.
Damn. You. Metalface.

Sex dwarf? Is this a PC or encounter? I don't see it.

Maybe that's a dumb hangup but I love having no idea what's going to happen when I have an encounter or event occur. When it becomes known the game becomes more mechanical and loses its edge.

The art reminds me of old GW fare. I'm in while early birds are still available (8 left as I type this).

It's one of the enemies.

That's a perfectly reasonable concern. It's my hope that stretch goals flesh out the encounter deck.

It seems to play a bit like Zombicide Black Plague except under water against Cthulhu like creatures. I'm pledging early just to see how it pans out. Since I went Knight's Pledge on Black Plague and also kickstarted Vampire Hunters I'm not sure I'm looking for another co-op minis game in the same vein.

Agreed, the more I look into it the more I like it. It looks like it has more meat than Zombicide which is always a plus. It has over double the monster types of Zombicide plus a doom tracker that adds global effects as you play. The game already funded in about an hour, that's a good sign for the campaign. It looks like I'll be keeping my pledge. I also get a free epic monster because I got in on their Facebook share promo they ran last month.
