What IOS games have you been playing?
I missed them too the first time.

But the player-matching on TtR HD sucks muddy bay water. It uses two systems, which is confusing, and it's live-only. I much prefer just to play the AI in the HD version.
I'll make a Private Room (heh heh heh) after I get you on my list, Duke, and then you, I, and Jeb will be able to embarrass one another privately.
IF you make a game, just use the password: Laysmoke so we all have it.

Why is it that Elder Sign was really fiddly and not quite as awesome as I had hoped, but the Omens version for iOS is quite easily one of the best games I've ever played, board, video, or otherwise?
It sucks that it only has 2 stock campaigns but the Call of Cthulhu 2.99 expansion is easily one of the best 2.99 expansions I've ever bought. I'll buy expansions FOREVER.
I finally figured out what ES really is: Arkham Horror without all the extraneous bullshit that makes it too bloody long to get to the table often.

Yeah, something is up on your end. It's working flawlessly for myself and the other Ascension players I talk with.Dair wrote: Anybody else having trouble getting online to play Ascension? Ive never played and now thinking about adding it to iPad fun...but not sure what to expect. Thoughts?
As to current playlist...Nightfall and Ascension of course. Yggdrisil is a fun solo game but cant imagine playing it at a table! Forbidden Island still the better co-op and the new map pack is fun.
Elder Signs is even more awesome now!
Disc Drivin is great for a quick flick.
Now just waiting for Summoner Wars!

Ascension....ugh. What a weak ass game. I don't see the fun in it. Draw 5 cards. Buy shit. Play card to kill shit. End Turn.
It's Dominion with the ability to sort of mess with opponents by making them discard Constructs, but only if a baddie comes up that you can kill that has that effect. Buy, Play Card, End Turn...rinse, repeat, ad nauseum.
I reiterate: Deckbuilding games are retarded.

Perhaps better than picking my toenails for 5 minutes but that's it. I totally wasted some unknown stranger yesterday and didn't feel my usual overwhelming need to mock and abuse, due to it being a bit too casual.
I hate Dominion with a passion and would far rather have a gigantic poo rather than play it ever again.
I haven't actually got my head round Nightfall, maybe I'll feel a bit better about deck builders after that.
Mind you, I do have Tikal and that is a crap abstract game with no sense of immersion. Even though it should feel like Indiana Jones, it feels more like optimising moves in Go or something. Plus you don't get to kill anyone (but you do get to block them getting the treasure...whoopee do!!)

Pirates is kind of a mix of a lot of things, but very fun overall. You sail around a big map trying to complete quests and stopping at ports to get crew and improve your ship and get information. There's swordfighting, naval battles and even dancing with governors' daughters. It's mostly an action/adventure game but there are some turn-based elements. Read the "gameplay" description at this link for more details.
I should note that it does lose something on the small iPhone/iPod screen compared to the PC (and presumably the iPad), but they did a pretty good job of making it playable. But if you have an iPad, I'm sure it's great on there.

Sometimes I'll watch Glee and fast forward through the singing.
