Didn't even know they were making this.

Only read a few comics, so I can't comment on it's relation to the source material, but this looks a bit too much like a super-hero movie to me. Did Hex have powers and steampunk gadgets?

Haven't read the comics, but I'd assume there's something supernatural going on with a surname like "Hex." I'll take it as a bad sign that a trailer for this is just now coming out.

Jonah Hex is possibly the equivalent of an Olympic athlete in terms of strength, speed, and toughness. He has iron willpower and incredible accuracy with firearms, tomahawks and even throwing knives. But no, he isn't superhuman, and he didn't use gadgets. Well, except there was that unfortunate post-apocalyptic comic that he was in for a while, so that version of Hex did use some gadgets. Purists consider that run an abomination and pretend that it didn't happen.

The current Jonah Hex series is probably the best ever. Almost every issue is a complete story by itself, and the writing is very good. Expect violence, depravity, and then harsh, unreasonable justice (or at least retribution) at the hands of bounty hunter Jonah Hex.

Zero confidence, and apparently the studio doesn't have any either. Look for this to plunk down in theaters and vanish almost as quickly as it releases. Apparently there were extensive reshoots, which is a bad sign.

I had zero faith in it to begin with when I saw that Megan Fox was cast in it as a gunslinging prostitute. She's this generation's Pamela Anderson.

Jonah Hex is great stuff- it's not necessarily supernatural (although a couple of the Vertigo books like "Riders of the Worm and Such" were, but they're definitely "weird" westerns.

Jonah Hex is one of my all time favorite characters. Was super pumped when I first heard of it, then I remembered Wild Wild West. Could they have absolutely stone cold fucked that up any more? (Salma Hayek's "flap" scene not included)

I am of a mixed mind about this quote. On one hand, I couldn't agree more, On the other, I am not quite sure how much better you could make a movie with Megan Fox in it, than casting her as a gunslinging prostitute.
