Dr. Mabuse wrote: Hatch what did you use as the base for the 1st necro? I have the same one which as you know keep falling over.

Did you buy duplicates to match each colour?

I just had some illustration board lying around and cut out a hex that is a bit smaller than the hexes in the game.

I bought only these four minis.

I tried to match the colour in the squad cards and was mostly successful, except for the necromancer (aka rob zombie) who was supposed to be maroon but I put too much magenta in the mix. good enough.

Any tips on miniature repair? My efforts at painting Space Hulk stalled out a couple of years ago after priming and then partial painting. Then one of my friends accidentally broke off the wing section on top of Sergeant Lorenzo's helmet. He kept picking Lorenzo up by the wings, until the snap. I've looked at the broken off piece, and the plastic is slight bent all around the edges, so it won't be a clean fit for just gluing back together. Is there a reasonable way to deal with this? Or should I just sand the top of Lorenzo's remaining helmet and work from there? Without those wings, his head looks too small.

Polystyrene cement will soften the plastic so it doesn't matter if the parts don't fit snugly. Dab a little on both parts, give it about 10 seconds to soften up and stick them together. Just be careful not to use too much or it might melt the detail off. You can practice on a bit of sprue first.

That polystyrene cement sounds great. And I did keep all of the sprues from Space Hulk. I used some of it for practice for both priming and painting. Eventually, I will chop up some of the sprue, prime and paint it, and then scatter on my Space Hulk map sections when we play, just to simulate random debris.

It is great and generally much better for glueing hard plastics than superglue. It isn't technically an adhesive but a welding agent so it doesn't just hold two parts together but melts them into one. The bonds are much stronger and it won't glue your fingers together.

I've just discovered gorilla 2-part epoxy. It works pretty well, but it took a little getting used to. For instance, don't try to bond the pieces together as soon as you apply the epoxy. Wait the 5 - 6 minute set time, THEN stick the arm on the warjack and it should stick just fine. Took me a few days to figure that out.

I love that polystyrene glue. Works like a champ on my DreadFleet stuff. Really easy to use as well plus it doesn't stick to you. Unless you're made of plastic.

Those are really nice, Hatch. I love when someone tries something non-traditional with their paint schemes.

Painting evil necromancers on the day of divine sacrifice. Nice!

I think having the minis all greyscale like that will look smashing. I bet it will really amplify the overall dark look of the game. Awesome.

Now if only we lived in the same city so that we could play this damn game.

Any idea for what to do for the big baddies? I'm thinking of scanning the images in the rulebook and printing them out to make big standies.

Thanks Neil.

Yep, I'm sure this and Dead of Night would probably see a lot more play.

No, I probably won't do much more with this except try to find bases for the squads.

At some point I may buy a duplicate mini but for now I'll just use a Necro marker.
