Who wants to do an Arms Trade?
It makes sense for small con-based trades because the randoms can't jump in unless they are going to the con.

Not crazy about paying international shipping. Is this US only or is we going global?

You normally just state how much shipping you are prepared to cover (normally $15). If an international (or non-Continental) trader wants your item they pay any excess in shipping costs.Stan Leer wrote: Not crazy about paying international shipping. Is this US only or is we going global?

The trade itself uses an algorithm to match haves with wants, but in loops instead of 1:1 interactions. There is an element of trust involved, as a person is sending to someone other than the person they are receiving from, it's the nature of the beast. Hence my reluctance to use BGG tools, where folks from that site would join here just to get in on the MT and make things more cloudy than they need be.
Everyone is comfortable with the concept of WANTS and HAVES of a person. In a Math Trade, it's a little different, as the items themselves have WANTS. Basically, your games WANT to be traded for another game as you see fit. A nicely done copy of DUNE might have a very small want list, say SPACE HULK 3e or FULL METAL PLANETE. In contrast, your fifth in-shrink copy of RELATIONSHIP TIGHTROPE is going to WANT every other fucking game in the trade.
You are not obliged to trade any games. You just submit a blank list for a game, and it can't possibly be traded away. e.g., that DUNE might not see anything else in the trade worth trading for, and you just submit a blank list for it. It stays yours.
