I moved to Seattle recently. Anyone in the area? These random meetups can be pretty rough to find the decent people out there. I don't even bother to stay for another game when they pull out Sushi Go or Tzolkin or some other euro/filler bullshit after forcing my game on them. Hilariously someone else brought Rising Sun to a meetup a week ago, hadn't played it, and coerced 3 other new players into it if I agreed to teach it. For two of them it was their first board game after ticket to ride/settlers of catan. It was predictably ridiculous.

Hi, Scott. Welcome to Washington state!
I think I'm the only Fattie on this side of the mountains. As it is, I've been taking care of my mom since my father passed and my girlfriend has a disability so I don't have any fucking social life to speak of. Therefore, I don't have many opportunities to get out much. Having said that, don't feel like you can't give me a shout out in the future...
I know there are/were Fatties in both Vancouvers as well as Portland (and to the east) if you ever get desperate.
From past experience I know it can be a challenge to find decent gamers in the area. The cool people have their private groups and keep to themselves so it's difficult. Things have probably changed a lot since I last bothered though. I think there's a handful of game cafes in the neighborhood but I've never really looked into to any.
Enjoy the traffic!
Mike
Oh, I'm south of Tacoma.

Yup. My sister just moved there and she noticed that people are the most actively unfriendly she’s ever encountered, save a few.

I was out there a few times for work and found decent people at the Mox Boarding House location in Bellevue.

Paul Allen's recent demise may make the city a little less interesting.
