RAIDERS OF THE LOST BREAKFAST BUFFET
INDIANA JONES AND THE LETTER TO THE EDITOR
I was expecting this movie to be a piece of crap, but that trailer gives me hope this might actually be good. It still might be a piece of crap, but I'm not writing it off either.

I was 13 when I watched it in the cinema, and liked it very much.I'm probably one of the few people that actually liked Episode I.
So with the 4th part of Indy coming up, what did you think of Die Hard 4.0?

I enjoyed Die Hard 4. I wasn't expecting much so it didn't disappoint.mikoyan wrote:

I liked Live Free and Die Hard. I really like the interplay of Bruce Willis character with the computer nerd character.
I picture "Warlock" as Aldie, that is the same kind of setup he has for BGG in my mind! HA!
The fight scene with the female in the elevator shaft was way over the top. Bruce ran over her with the car, she should be dead. She was not a superhero!

The bit where Indy turns into spiderman bouncing around with his web whip, or the bits that are just rehashing prior films?
Ken nailed it in one, this trailer is heavy on nostalgia and not a heck of a lot else. I get the feeling Indy is going to get the buffoon treatment like Marcus did in Crusade.
Now there is nothing in it which screams "shit" either, and I'll giver them props cause it sure as hell looks like an Indy film, but I still think it's going to be mediocre - there seemed to be too many script problems just prior to shooting.
And Yahoo movies fucking sucks.

"So which part of this is awesome exactly? The bit where Indy turns into spiderman bouncing around with his web whip"
At least the pack of velociraptors beneath him was something new. I hear they're thinking of a sequel-impossible ending where the 'raptors get their revenge and tear Indy apart in the final scene.
And the Ameritrash inspiration is die Schlacht der Dinosaurier.

It looks like we don't have to worry about Harrison Ford's age. He seemed to still have what it takes to be Indiana Jones.
A stunt double and special effects?

And I think it's fine that Indy is played older- it'd be stupid if he weren't.
The whip-swinging was a little exaggerated, but I'm not surprised since it's a 2008 movie, not a 1988 one.

I think people who complain about the outrageousness of Indy swinging on a whip forget about the rail car scene in Temple of Doom. (Of course, many people think the Temple of Doom is crap, but those people are mirthless cretins.)The whip-swinging was a little exaggerated, but I'm not surprised since it's a 2008 movie, not a 1988 one.

As long as it's convincing, that's fine.

Heh. I saw Temple of Doom with a friend who was working on degrees in both electrical engineering and physics at the time, at Purdue University. When Indy jumped out of that plane and landed safely on the snowy mountainside in that inflatable life raft, my friend jumped up and started shouting profanity and physics terminology at the screen. Fortunately, it was a desolate weekday afternoon screening, so we didn't get thrown out.
