Best Game for fighting Commies?

So what's your favorite game for fighting the Big Red menace (or alternatively trying to stamp out the evils of capitalism)?

There are lots of WWIII games out there that focus in on central Europe, but I'd like something that is either covers the whole globe or takes the "WOLVERINES!!!" angle and deals with an invasion of North America. I've played Fortress America and like it. I'm thinking of something a bit more wargamey but not too much more complex. Does Invasion America fit that bill? What global games are out there or at the very least most of Europe- I'm looking to fight the war, not the battle for some town in Germany.

This topic seems kind of appropriate for gaming now that a Communist has taken over the country. Yeah I went there. Anyways, games!

Invasion America does fit the bill for the wargamey side, but beware the rulebook. It's classic SPI hash and errata-heavy. Once you sort through that though, it can be an interesting game for sure. [Shameless self-interested plug: And, I have a beat but playable players copy of the flat-pack edition if you're interested in trading down the road. Prices on good condition copies fluctuate wildly on ebay, but it can be a pricey one].

I'd have to go back and really look at it more closely though as I don't think it's quite as "WOLVERINES!" [i.e., partisan activities, though they are a part] as I might be remembering. It may be more of a "defend North America from the global military onslaught..."

twilight struggle. I really get the feeling I'm extinguishing communism from the map in different places.

Twilight Struggle is great. I own it and it's one of my favorites. It's a cold war game though. I'm looking for a shooting war game. Perhaps one you could play after a DEFCON victory result in Twilight Struggle as part of an uber-game....hmmmmmm...

If you want do beat the commies, think of a Russian Civil War game. Last and best change to nip the whole mess in the bud

I thought that GL, but the wanker-quotient hits unbelievably high marks at a number of points in that list.

That's what it's famous for.

I meant to add a few WWIII games, but they don't have a global scale or take place on the Northern American continent.

 oh, I'd like to think for that on an EPIC 'scale' with the likes of "The Hunt for Red October" or "Red Storm Rising" and even BOTH for quite the experience with a 4-Player "Game" from these!

I'm partial to the Fleet series of games. But then I like the Naval side of things better.
