Anyone here played this? It is on clearance for about 15 bucks at Best Buy---just curious if anyone has played it. Worth picking up?

BLECH! No. It's awful. If you have to play a non-videogame version of Halo, do the ActionClix.

If you like science-fiction board games, place Race for the Galaxy, BSG or Twilight Imperium.

If you like Video-game themed board games, play Railroad Tycoon, Age of Empires III or Starcraft.

If you like Wargames, play C&C:Ancients or Ken's fave War of the Ring.

Just don't play that trashy Halo game. YUCK

Trashy? Sounds like something worth playing.

Oh wait, you mean the bad kind of trashy. :-\

nono, i mean the Ameritrashy kind of trashy. Bad for me but maybe good for others.

I personally hate it (but I don't hate all Ameritrash, like the ones I recommend above are awesome)

I don't know anything about the "interactive" Halo game (except that it's got the gimmicky DVD thing going on), but the problem with these other suggestions is that none of them are related to HALO.

Hasbro is doing another Risk retheme, based on Halo this time, in case anyone is interested:

This looks great. Sounds like its ideal for three players too, which is a plus for me.

Except of course for my first suggestion, the Halo ActionClix.

Yeah, looks like it'll be the first retheme of the NEW RISK. I'm not a huge Halo fan or anything, but it looks way cool.

Huh, I must have overlooked that; sorry for my presumptuousness. Is the ActionClix good? Isn't it collectible?

Buddy of mine has it and was trying to trade it off before anyone but him had even played the damn thing. Not a good sign.

no worries. I don't think the Halo ActionClix is terrific but it's easily the best Halo-themed non-video game thing out there. And yeah, it has collectible components. I dunno, the entire time you're gonna wish you were playing Magic, BSG or Arkham Horror instead.

But if you're a Halo nut, it's the best way to go other than the video games
