If you like science-fiction board games, place Race for the Galaxy, BSG or Twilight Imperium.
If you like Video-game themed board games, play Railroad Tycoon, Age of Empires III or Starcraft.
If you like Wargames, play C&C:Ancients or Ken's fave War of the Ring.
Just don't play that trashy Halo game. YUCK

Trashy? Sounds like something worth playing.
Oh wait, you mean the bad kind of trashy. :-\

I personally hate it (but I don't hate all Ameritrash, like the ones I recommend above are awesome)

I don't know anything about the "interactive" Halo game (except that it's got the gimmicky DVD thing going on), but the problem with these other suggestions is that none of them are related to HALO.BLECH! No. It's awful. If you have to play a non-videogame version of Halo, do the ActionClix.

Hasbro is doing another Risk retheme, based on Halo this time, in case anyone is interested:

This looks great. Sounds like its ideal for three players too, which is a plus for me.

Except of course for my first suggestion, the Halo ActionClix.

no worries. I don't think the Halo ActionClix is terrific but it's easily the best Halo-themed non-video game thing out there. And yeah, it has collectible components. I dunno, the entire time you're gonna wish you were playing Magic, BSG or Arkham Horror instead.
But if you're a Halo nut, it's the best way to go other than the video games
