Arkham Horror Article - Help Needed

Arkham Horror Article - Help Needed was created by BradHB
I'm looking at writing an article on customisations, enhancements, or other aspects of "pimping" that people have done to board-games. I decided to focus on Arkham Horror as a) it's a personal favourite of mine, my gaming group's and my web-site's and b) it seems to have the most inspired contributions - probably due to the influence of the Cthulhu LARP crowd.
If you've done some Cthulhoid "pimping", please let me know, either through a PM here, on FaceBook, or via e-mail to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

I hope you cross post it here as an article or blog, or at least post a link in a blog, obviously that would be of great interest to all of us.
Are you talking house rules, or just physical customization? Both? You could probably write a 400 page novel on either one.

I was thinking more physical customisation. Maybe I'd include that home-made "At The Mountains of Madness" expansion I've seen knocking around, though.

I love pimping games but I've not tackled that one yet. Come to think of it.. thats like the only game I know of that Richard Launius has left untouched. Everything else he owns has player aids, redone boards, minis imported from other games..even props.
One nifty trick I've been using lately is to glue small images on the back of clear beads for markers. The convex surface of the bead magnifies the image. They make great markers for stuff. It would be easy enough to make some really cool gates too by printing on clear acetate and sandwiching it between air dry clay.
You could pimp the box by putting all the contents into one of those fake book wooden boxes then painting the box to look like the necromnicon.
With a littl imagination Arkham cool look intensly cool.

Excellent idea Brad. Last month I posted "Pimp that Game" to get some ideas in general about pimping games but focusing on one game and being able to see pictures would be much more useful. Also, links to sites that you can buy stuff for your game would be excellent.
On the other hand, my last purchase was two metal Basestars for BSG. I'm still on the look out for some Centurion figures for BSG.
