And I feel pretty good about it.

It's not nice to take advantage of the mentally disabled. Go give it back. And shame on you.

A fiery vengeance and furious anger upon your lopsided trade

Verily!

Princes goes for $125-$150. Seems roughly the same money value.

Admittedly, it *IS* trading a mediocre auction game that allows you to roll a die every now and then for the single most iconic tactical minis game ever made.

Although, was it first or second edition? Second edition was better. As long as you add back in the time limit for the Marines.

2nd edition! Everything on the sprues.

This was spurred by a session of DOOM last weekend. It was fun (especially DEATHMATCH!), better than DESCENT, but I hear SPACE HULK is the grand-daddy of them all.

PotR wasn't a bad game, but not nearly as good as I was led to believe! I think PotR's rarity inflates it's reputation.

ROFTL

No doubt... How could you do that to Corky?

I really wasn't a fan of second edition. That proximity kill thing was okay but no command points during the stealer players turn? Meh. It felt and played like a dumbed down version of the original.

the one thing i do think trhat they git right was the mod to how a flamer works.

I disagree. PotR is more of a stock market game (buying stock in cities) than the war game people think it will be. The auctions make sense thematically for a change since people usually sided with the highest bidder in those days. There's multiple paths to winning and everything is negotiable so there's a lot of creativity allowed rather than following a script. I know the game's not for everyone, but its far from "mediocre" in my opinion.

Oops. Looks like we always kept the command point system from 1st edition as well.

The best things about 2nd were the better tiles, the better dice, and the flamers.

The first edition mission book is well worth tracking down as well. The other expansions---not so much.

Any word on what the upcoming Space Hulk reprint is going to include as far as command points, etc?

I've got the entire First Edition of Space Hulk plus all the expansions and other goodies that were floating around that time. My understanding was that the first edition rules were the best ones to use. What does the Second Edition do better with flamers? I'm game to add that in if it enhances the play.

BTW, use the command points and timer if you have the second edition MM. :)

That's still just a rumour (wishful thinking?).
