Comics as a tie-in for boardgame product lines? No, thanks. Reminds me too much of the way Saturday morning cartoons all turned into toy commercials in the '80s. However, the comic book intro in the rules to Psycho Raiders is brilliant, and I make every first-time player read it before we start playing.

Comic book shops and game shops. They go together. I think CMON is looking for ways to book revenue regardless of what it is, and they think this is a good idea. They become a Nerd company instead of a Game company, and that increases revenue. Keeps the lights on. "Merch" is next, maybe they can make cosplay costumes after that.
I really like the Android art and milieu, and the poppy colors. But I think Asmodee would do better going with a TKO or Dark Horse that do comics for a living. I'd wager CMoN came to Asmodee and made an offer, because they needed IP to work with. Asmodee can take a flyer because if it fails, who cares? Nobody's losing their job because they licensed out IP to a line of business they have no intention of pursuing. And if CMON wants to advertise for Asmodee products so much the better.
It just feels weird to have a game company publish a comic book about another game company's products. It's like Chevrolet selling T-shirts with "Ford" on the front of them. In theory aren't these guys competing for the same dollar?
Long story short -- the whole industry is starting to feel like a scam. It used to be you had companies like Days of Wonder and FFG out there swinging an axe, cutting their own paths into new places. Now it just feels like a bunch of guys all in the same room trying to figure out how to get more money out of the same number of customers.

Big Gamestop trying to sell merch because of margins and synergies vibes.
