To me, a miniatures game has no board and/or gridded movement. Which eliminates BloodBowl, Space Hulk, Heroscape, etc.

1) Star Grunt
2) Necromunda
3) Song of Blades & Heroes
4) Piquet
5) Full Thrust

1. HEROSCAPE (+ AotP since it's the same thing)
2. Star Wars Amada
3. X-Wing/STAW (I may never decide which I prefer)
4. Warmachine/Hordes
5. Song of Blades and Heroes

I did just pick up a MERCS army, so this is subject to change.

1. Epic Armageddon.
2. Battlelore, 2nd Ed.
3. Battlefleet Gothic
4. X-Wing
5. WHFB, 7th/8th

Close calls: Necromunda, Space Hulk, War of the Ring and Chaos in the Old World (only because they don't really qualify as "minis" games)

1. Blood Bowl
2. Necromunda
3. Mordheim
<notice a pattern>
4. Man O' War
5. Warmachine/Hordes

The dominance of GW titles is due to the fact that I don't have many opponents locally to try other systems. I do like the Song of Blade and Heroes rules, but haven't tried them.

Granted, I haven't played a proper miniatures game in years, but my favorites used to be...

1. Warhammer 40K. I have an entire pirate-themed Space Marine army with every piece customized in some way.

2. Heroclix. God, I loved this game, despite how horribly janky the rules could be. And how lame the community could be at times. I used to run a fan-site called WhoClix in a vain attempt to get more players to create teams based on actual comic book teams but nope, I encountered the dreaded Dr. Strange/SWAT Member/Hooker whenever I played. I gave it all up back when the company was sold to NECA and have only occassionally looked back, like that meme of the guy with the two girls...

3. X-Wing. I loved Wings of War/Glory when it was just cards. Never got into it when it was miniatures but when X-Wing came along, that was my jam. I still love how fast it is to get a game up and running although I never played a tournament and have yet to dive into 2.0. Any good or just another way to part me with my money?

4. Kingdom Death: Monster. Is this technically a miniatures game? I mean, I build miniatures and play the game with miniatures. I own it, but truth be told, I've only played demos at Gen-Con so far. But I've really liked what I've played. And I love their style. There are a few people nearby who really want to play it with me, but I've yet to field my 1.5 copy yet. Soon. Soon...

5. D&D? Again, does this count as a miniatures game? I used to have so many miniatures but sold them all when I was in college. Why did I do this? I hope my Dungeon Dwellers and Citadel figures went to good homes...
