1. Rage deck - Can pretty much play any card game with that, 0-15 in six suits
2. Duel of Ages - Hit's on the tactical wargame and ccg elements
3. Chess4 - Probably just play 2 player but I'll throw in the 4 for variablity
4. Starcraft TBG - need at least on FFG big box in there
5. Saboteur - for party/non-gamers

1. Arkham Horror
2. Vampire the Eternal Struggle/Jhad, depending on how many decks and variety I could smash in
3. A Great Battles of History game, probably SPQR
4. A Musket and Pike game, probably Sweden Fights On
5. Here I Stand

Honestly, my top 5 games aren't anywhere close to my just 5. I'm choosing these mostly based on replayability/time investment, where there are a lot of games I like better but I think I would tire of if they were all I played, like war of the ring or BSG for example.

1. Warhammer 40k
2. Empires in Arms
3. Crokinole
4. Titan
5. DAK2

Juniper, I think you are going to have to turn in your F:AT card after presenting us with this list.

In no particular order...

1) Talisman 2nd Edition plus expansions (Soon to be Talisman 4th Edition when there are enough expansions available) - Has to be with the right crowd.
2) Space Hulk 1st Edtion plus expansions - Intense space game for fewer people.
3) Space Crusade plus expansions - For people who like the space theme and don't want quite the intensity of SH
4) Escape from Atlantis - Light fast, brutal, fun game that I've never had a bad experience with playing with ages 7+
5) Quest for the Faysylwood - Multiplayer light fantasy adventure in a single deck of cards. No other game has yet approached the fantasy fun that this game does with so little.

Just missing

6) Family Business (for light filler - even though for some reason I think I'm the only person on F:AT that enjoys this and I don't know why)
7) HeroQuest - Always a good time and I haven't played Descent yet enough to really like it more than HQ. I also don't own Descent yet so... ;)
8) Last Night on Earth (for guests and people who might not ordinarily play any board game)
9) Settlers plus some of the expansions (for the people who don't like the Fantasy/Space themed games)
10) Couple of decks of cards (for all sorts of the classic games) for people who absolutely wont play any board game.
11) Sorry Sliders - mainly when young kids want to play too but many people like this dexterity game and with the 'Sorry' name on it, easier to sell to non gamers.

Easy...

1. D&D (I could get by with just this. 3.5 if I had to pick a single edition, though any would be fine)

2. Magic the Gathering

3. Settlers of Catan + expansions

4. Heroscape (could also be WHFB or 40K, and if so limited to 5 games those might make more sense, but I generally have more fun with Heroscape)

5. Rage Deck (is this cheating since it plays like infinity games?)

1. Arkham Horror and all it's expansions. I will assume that Innsomouth is purchased before the ban sets in.

2. Memoir44. I almost want to take BattleLore over this...but for ease of play and many excellent expansions, this is the keeper.

3. Pitch Car. Great great fun...and I have all the expansions!

4. Blood Bowl. It is MY avatar, it is my game.

5. RuneBound and all the expansions.

HA!

F:ATwa needs to go in the F:At glossary.

And yes, F:ATwa has been issued Tamburlaine. Don't open your door to anyone carrying foam rubber pistols, swords or shurikens.

Settlers of Catan - A great game to play with family AND with gamer types. The game can be as nice or as ruthless as the people playing it.

War of the Ring - The best epic 2 player game I know of. Best LotR game I know of. Must keep it. Will teach my son when he is old enough.

Talisman (4th ed) - This probably gets more play with my friends than any other game, and it's one of my favorites. A no brainer to keep this one (plus expansions).

Citadels - My wife and I really like this game; we've played it many times and still really enjoy it. Great with 2 up to 8 players. Nice and portable.

StarCraft TBG - Picked this one over TI3 because it plays faster, has less stuff to setup, has more fighting, and more variety from game to game (especially with printed out maps). I'd like to pick up Brood War sometime, too.

I guess if DnD is included, that would fit in. There really is no comparison between replay value between board games and rpgs. I also realized I forgot a Great Battles of the American Civil War game and didn't include 30 years war. Damn it! It's hard to choose!

1. Talisman
2. Arkham Horror
3. Buffy
4. Merchant of Venus
5. Ultra Marines

Settlers, Cosmic Encounter, Railroad Tycoon and California almost made the list, but I figure I'd know people who had those so I'd still get to play.

1) Dune

2) Cosmic Encounter

3) Tales of the Arabian Nights

4) Thrilling Tales of Adventure!
(Not that I think this is in the same league as the above, but I set out to make a game that I really wanted to play and I pretty much succeeded)

5) Some six-siders, a pencil, and a case of blank index cards
(Is this a cop-out?)

Holy crap Dungeons & Dragons doesn't even get mentioned until page 4! If it's for the rest of my life I'm thinking big.

1. Dungeons & Dragons
2. Arkham Horror and all them big fat expansions
3. Call of Cthulhu
4. Warriors of God (though I have hope for Kingdom of Heaven to fill this slot)
5. El Grande

I haven't played El Grande's expansions yet, but there's something about the base game that just feels right to me. Damn near put Settlers instead, but it's just a shade too simple for the long haul.

I don't care how many games I have, Master Blaster says "Embargo Off" when that game gets published.

Where is the pre-order page for this?
