Bugs: Recent Topics Paging, Uploading Images & Preview (11 Dec 2020)
Recent Topics paging, uploading images and preview bugs require a patch which has not yet been released.
I opened a game store north of Chicago
There's a chain that has been growing in northern Illinois, and expanding elsewhere (MN, NV, TX, UT). It's called The Gaming Goat and sells at prices comparable to Coolstuff and Miniature Market, but it's brick and mortar only. I've known the CEO since back in 2011 when he had just one store in my hometown, and the company has grown dramatically. It used to be all about magic and EDH, but he has since shifted to a tighter retail focus and just making it easy to find and buy the games that people want.

(Not far off of I-94. Some people end up in weird spots from their GPS, but it shares a strip with a Dominos on the corner of Milwaukee (21) and Manchester).
*Or even if you don't want to buy games. I'd like to put some faces to screen names, and always enjoy discussing games.

They're 14.06 at the local mexican grocery store, and I already cut a hole in the back of this one's head.
In all seriousness though, what I want to do with it is get at least an 8-person pod for a draft of a game, toss the packs in there, and then break the piñata as a team while people rush to grab their X packs for the draft. It's very sturdy paper mache, so in my mind it will break and the cards won't really get damaged.

Gurnee is a bit of a long drive for me to be a regular customer, but maybe I'll stop in some time on my way up to Milwaukee to pick up my daughter from college.
Best of luck!

So happy for you, Jim. I know you prefer James, but at this point, you're the FUCKING CAPTAIN OF YOUR OWN ENTERPRISE.
I'll be there next month z

Thanks everyone!
If anyone is trying to see me there, I work Sun-Thursday right now; it's the other guy there Friday/Saturday. He's more of a CCG guy than I am, although I have experience with MtG and Pokemon.

Not sure what you like to play; aside from Wednesday, the dedicated board game night, things are often slow enough for me to chat, or perhaps even play a short game.
Sometime today (Sunday), two of my lifelong friends (who are brothers) are coming. Got no idea on the exact time though. Monday night is when I'm trying to get MtG Modern to happen. I have a super budget Red deck that you could play in it with. I honestly don't know if it'll fire though. Tuesday is a night that we sometimes have some X-Wing players. There's also a Starfinder group on Tuesday night, but I think they might be taking this week off. On any given day, there's a very high chance that at least one group of 2-4 friends will come hang out and play Commander (EDH) in the store. I have 4 decks that I've been playing around with. I'll make sure I have something fun on hand these days- like my X-Wing lists that are ready to go and maybe we could play. Not sure what your favorite games are. With the exception of Sunday, I'd say the slowest times are usually 4-6 PM.
Business has been slow the first couple months; if these first 4 days are any indication, November looks to be MUCH better.
I've been told that the guy over at Hero's Edge in McHenry is pretty cool. Mostly a comic and MtG shop in more the old model of stores. Do not go to Snap Keep Games unless you want to get creeped the fuck out. One of the owners is a known pedo.
