I'm just south of Muskegon, yet haven't made it to the festival yet. Maybe this year.

Best festival I’ve been to was Table of the Elements...I think it was around 1994? All avant- noise stuff. Very arty/music snobby. Three out of four Sonic Youth members were involved (all the male ones). The headliner on the first day was Keiji Heino, and this was at the peak of the whole Japanese noise thing. He was terrifying. Thurston Moore would have headlined the second night, if it weren’t for the fact that it was Krautrock legends Faust’s first show in the US. They played outside in front of a substation. They used jackhammers.

It was the same weekend as Freaknik, and it took us about 5 hours to get home on the second night.

I bought this album as a library surplus sale and my thirteen year old daughter likes it, says it reminds her a little of Wilco. She'll walk around the house singing Hummingbird.

John Mayer live at the Ziggy Dome 2012, a fantastic concert by an indisputably amazing artist:

And arguably the most powerful and vulnerable I’ve ever seen one of my greatest musical heroes, from his Chris Cornell: Songbook concerts. Best song is one of my truly cherished tunes: Call me a dog

I miss that guy.

There is no greater surprise to most people than the information that John Mayer is actually legitimately a master guitarist.

why didn't they set up a tripod for the camera?! It felt like we were on a cruise ship.

I couldn't take my eyes off the 'back b00bs' of the woman on the right. Very distracting.

The piano was beautifully played though. It really picks up after 2 minutes. The 3rd minute was my favourite.

I keep trying to surreptitiously record him noodling around with nerd music. He plays a beautiful Terra's Theme, a lot of Joe Hisaishi tunes, & random video game music that he gets fascinated with. I overheard him playing some Hollow Knight tracks last night.

Here’s one: I can play many of his songs, in part or in whole, and mostly the solos.

No shit. "Mom Rock John Mayer" has spent the last five years holding down Jerry Garcia's spot in Dead and Company, which are no small shoes to fill. I know that's not important or cool to some snobs, but gigging with a hundred songs of no fixed set list in front of an audience with 50 years of source material to compare it to isn't a joke.

That guy has bona fides. Anyone disagreeing with it knows jack fucking shit about actually playing a guitar.

Dude's career isn't just "Your Body is a Wonderland".

Just like how there is more to Right Said Fred than “I’m Too Sexy”.
