Resisting the urge to create the thread 'What BATHROOM have you been visiting?' (as that could never end badly), instead we have a new Mos Eisley thread devoted to the random minutia that populate our purchasing lives. Thus this is the thread to post in if you just bought a nice sandwich, some batteries for the camera or a new house to provide us with a nice little window into your life.

In my lunch break today I bought 4 pairs of bathers/swimsuits for small girls (2 each for my 2 girls). Given they are restarting swimming lessons next week and we have 2 beach holidays planned before the end of the year, and their old bathers were getting small. It was an awkward trip as I always feel weird shopping for little girls' clothes without little girls in tow, plus my eldest is huge for her age so I have to shop in the teens section for her and try to find something more little girl than teen.

Super stoked on the $900 I just spend on a new toilet and fixing the mess the old one created out of the pipes.

I bought my first vibrating toothbrush because it was on sale. It says the battery lasts 3 months and then you throw it out, but I'll probably use it as a regular toothbrush for a while after that.

USB adapters for NES, SNES, Genesis, and Atari/sms controllers. I still have a bunch of old game systems and games, but I don't have room to keep them all hooked up to my TV, so I use emulators a lot. Using a PS3 controller to play these things just doesn't feel right, though. If only I could find one for Colecovision and Atari 5200. I don't think mine have much time left in them.

A Warwick Rock Bass. Aside from having a neck like a baseball bat that's somewhat uncomfortable and poorly balanced, it's a pretty awesome bass for what I paid. Really punchy.

Miscellaneous fishing tackle. I'm going to try to get an entry-level fly rod setup pretty soon, I think.

A shitload of spiral, .25" square graph paper notebooks and the dollar store. Until very recently, I can't recall a time when I needed some graph paper and actually had some around. Not the case now.

A big "paddle" hairbrush. My sister was just telling me that apparently, the longer your hair is, the wider your brush should be to reduce the need to re-brush, thus damaging your hair. Since I'm 6 feet tall and my hair is down to my ass, I thought it'd be a good idea to get a wide one. I must say, I'm not sure how I got along without one all this time.

Coconut M&Ms... the guy behind the register convinced me to get it in lieu of a second pack of peanut butter M&Ms. Have yet to try them out. I shall report back on the wisdom of this purchase.

Already lerning stuff I didn't know about people on the board. I want pictures.

I bought an insulated tea infuser for the Spawn. She's assimilated herself into the Asian girl clique at school (race is an issue at her school, but I won't go into that here; and it being Jr. High, who you eat lunch with is of the utmost importance). She brings her lunch in a Ponyo bento box and now she has her tea. She's also been buggin me to find "cute" chopsticks in a holder like the other girls have.

I bought Season 13 of the Simpsons. I've watched them all already, and it's a surprisingly robust season for being as far along as the show is. Now on to the commentaries!

It was a new sort of budget end toilet. Basically the cheapest one that's a real deal plumber's toilet and not something from Home Depot. They also had to cut into the ceiling below it so they could replace the big ass curved pipe that's down there. Apparently it was also an extra pain in the ass cause we have old school cast iron pipes so to get to the lead part was a hassle.

$9K on a 400 sq foot "shed" with raised rafters, pre-hung door and double-pane windows. No electricity mind you -- that requires an extra permit and inspection fee. The air conditioner installed and left unplugged is just to give it that homey "lived-in" look.

I found it disturbing when I looked on the back of the bag and saw there's no coconut in the ingredients.
