I'll throw up a pic later in the week when I have time to take one. I may have to be creative to make the model look decent.

Really, the way to do that is kind of counter-intuitive. I think. Because washes aren't erally going to do it. You want to just cover the groove with White Scar. Then, do Guilliman Blue (glaze) in it. Maybe drybrush a lighter blue around the edges to give them the glow effect (something like Etherium Blue maybe?) Then you touch up around the edges with the base skin color.
I dunno, mine look like garbage too. It's a difficult thing to get right because it's a light recess on a dark color.
Looks like you went lighter on the skin that what is proscribed.
Is that a Balewind Vortex?

And you described far more steps than I'm willing to take on the model. :/

These guys don't have traditional bases, so I was really struggling to find a means of getting every part of them covered and painted in the one go. In the end, I took a leaf out of Vlad the Impaler's book...
I'm not familiar with this game. Is it cool?

Well, there are no dice in the box, so that disqualifies it from being "cool". Despite that, it's quintessentially a roll-n-move racing game, but with each rider having their own deck of movement cards in place of the traditional dice. Some clever (and very thematic) rules around slipstreaming and managing your riders' ever-dwindling energy reserves (aka the aforementioned deck). Definitely looking forward to playing it with the family.Mr. White wrote:

I read somewhere that you SHOULD in fact prime the Reaper Bones, and theres all kinds of bother with tackiness if you varnish the figures after painting. I also have not found anywhere local thats even heard of, never mind "Testors Dullcote"

I've tried painting the Reaper Bones stuff without priming and it hasn't gone so well. It was mostly just something for the kids to splash paint on but it doesn't stick very well.
The trick with Testors Dullcote is that the label on it actually says Testors Spray Lacquer and then on the lid you need to find the one that says matte or dullcote.
