What kind of music do you folks like?

I always seem to catch these music discussions about a week after they end.
What about Clutch?
Doesn't seem to get more Ameritrash than that. They fuckin rock. They got pirates, star wars, dragons, gods and demons, beer, space tyrants, elephant cavalries, rednecks, monster trucks, witches, and whiskey.
I also love me some Sublime, yet strangely I never really got the Clash (I know I'm a philistine)

I think "Space Grass" or "Rock & Roll Outlaw" could be the them song for F:AT.
I went to the NORML festival in Boston just to see these guys (I'd seen them before and subsequent). I'm not a big NORML fan or pot smoker, mind you... but sure, repeal all the laws, fine by me. I just think that there are much better causes to donate my time energy to as an activist than getting high - piss on those stinky hippies. However, I did not want to miss Clutch for free. I found out approximately what time they'd be going on and headed to Boston on my motorcycle with a friend riding on the back. I parked the bike at the edge of Boston common and we walked all the way to the front of the stage without anyone in the way. Timing was pretty good... we arrived to the edge of the stage just as the MC was coming out to announce Clutch. Everyone screams, the band comes out and just as they strike the first note the strangest thing happened... the dude that came with me is standing right next to me with peas and carrots streaming down his leather jacket. Just as the show began someone threw a chicken pot pie like a Frisbee and it hit him in the back of the head. It lied on the ground next to him looking like a crescent moon only to be then stomped on by the crowd. Who brings chicken pot pies to concerts?

Clutch ain't bad. Not in my top 10 but they do have some songs that rock.
I think the stoner rock/stoner metal/desert rock bands (I don't smoke weed either but it's good music) are pretty damn ameritrash. Karma to Burn, Kyuss, older QOTSA, Alabama Thunderpussy, Desert Sessions, Fu Manchu, Unida, Slo Burn, bands like that. Clutch gets put in that category sometimes, but since genre labels are pure bullshit it doesn't matter.
Not stoner (just herion) I've been listening to a lot of Mark Lanegan lately. He sang in Screaming Trees and QOTSA as well a bunch of solo and side projects. Really fucking good stuff. A lot of it is on the mellower side and it's all pretty dark. It's been getting a lot of listens from me.
