Looks like the old post is gone, but here's a little bit of new info.
It seems that James Hewitt probably designed Blitz Bowl if not both. It's known he developed an unpublished game for GW before he left. Question is, is it Blitz Bowl or SMA, or is Blitz Bowl something he was contracted to do after he left?

If it is a James Hewitt design, his background in both BB and DB (and the incredible Gorechosen and Silver Tower) has me _very_ interested in this title now. Could be deeper than it appears. Or at least a fun addition to the BB family (like the dormant Dungeon Bowl).
Also, looking at the following pictures, it appears as if Big Guys are in play somehow. There appear to be cardboard chits of them (or dual sided board?). Look at the large brown/gold tiles. they seem to be in different spots in each photo. Maybe they're not BGs, but statues or some other on-field obstacle?
two in the center
four in the corners
EDIT: hmmm....graphics look totally different on these boards. Probably not chits then, but double-sided boards.

I'll grant you that James' possible involvement is worth taking a second look.
But really; this seems like a rebranding of Kerrunch.
If it courts a younger crowd into the abuse of GW, good on GW and all cultist F:ATties.
I think I may be interested only as a means for filling out my roster. This game shouldn't cost all that much...
I suspect the board is double sided. The graphics are barriers. Two on one side, four on the other. Gotta move and pass around 'em.

I can confirm James designed Blitz Bowl (and the upcoming Adeptus Titanicus), and not Space Marine: Adventures.

I'm all over Bitz Bowl, especially if it has the rules to run seasons.
Sure, it might be a pale shadow of its big brother, but it's worth remembering that the original Blood Bowl was awful. Teams were all cardboard standees and it essentially used the rules to WFB which are entirely unsuited to simulating American Football. Yet people bought it, and loved it, because it had such a brilliant, goofy theme. People will do the same for this, even if the gameplay is weak.
Also the lower model count will appeal hugely to folk like me who want to dabble in painting but not the commitment of crafting up an entire team.

If this has league play, I'm likely all in.
Has league/campaign play been confirmed or mentioned anywhere and I've just missed it?
