And a reprint of Psycho Raiders to boot.

He is revealing absolutely zero information about what the game is in Issue #2, and just expecting us to preorder it blindly.
Good call, really.

I enjoyed Psycho Raiders, but I don't think $37 for an unknown quantity sounds like a good deal.

"Players will need to xerox elements and provide two D6 and pencils to play this game."

I am predicting a similar game to Psycho Raiders, only in a completely different horror scenario.

I can not think of a bigger middle finger to the current state of hobby gaming.

$37 is a bit pricy, but he's actually getting paid, he has such a tiny, tiny niche audience, and there is a lot of art and contributed bits in the magazine.

The thing is, NO ONE is really doing stuff like that. His stuff somehow manages to always have absolutely zero commercial appeal. The other drugs and horror games tend to go for the pithy cutesy cards and total fluff gameplay so that you might see them in like a head shop or record store.

That quote suddenly makes me interested in the game.

Still no update on their website. Money is tight this month, so I fought off the temptation to pre-order. I have a feeling that this new game will use the same mechanics as Psycho-Raiders in a different setting, and I am totally up for that. But I just can't afford to blow even $40 on an unknown game.

While brushing up on the rules to Psycho Raiders for gaming tomorrow, it dawned on me that the style of art may suggest the setting of this new mystery game. The cover art for the magazine looks to be the same artist, or at least the same style, and he has a very nasty, shocking style of outsider art. So the art would match up best with a certain level of gruesomeness, like maybe zombies or cannibals or demons or deformed mutants in a brutal post-apocalypse city. Maybe carnival freaks. Zombies are too familiar these days, and Cave Evil already dealt with some pretty freaky looking monsters.

My best guess would be carnival freaks if they have a map artist who could do justice to that. They could do their freaky body horror art and have a more colorful map.

I bet Emperors of Eternal Evil could do a great cannibalism game. Like a semi-cooperative game involving a plane crash, and characters are just trying to survive long enough until rescue, but limited food supplies are going to run out too soon. But that would operate on a different time scale from Psycho Raiders, and I think that this new game is going to use the Psycho Raiders system.

No clear description yet, but they posted a brief video at the Emperors of Eternal Evil site. I don't have audio at work, but the visual was of a horrific red muppet thing with a red clown nose, just screeching or shouting. So maybe my carnival freaks guess isn't too far off the mark.
