YEP. I knew this was coming, I had heard some things about it being a thing.

Interesting that there is no moving gimmick- no templates or anything like that. Instead they are doing a thing I pretty much already do with 40k anyway, you move the squad leader and put the other guys in cohesion with him.

Really not thrilled about the cards. Playing 40k/AOS got me used to using books again.

I hope they do terrain sets, SW terrain is so specific (see their pictures), my Pegasus/Sector Mechanicus stuff won't fly with it.

Hooray infantry combat like Xwing. It worked for D&D.

I'd like to see simple rules and zero morale checks. I hate morale checks in every game ever.

Mike- with your newfound love of miniature gaming why the hell aren't you getting Hirst molds and making Alumalite terrain? Way cheaper and way more fun than buying wanky GW skull fests.

You and me both Superfly. I really enjoyed Attack Wing as an infantry combat game, so I actually might buy into this. We have an idea on scale yet?

I second Hirstart molds. I bought my first set 13 years ago and they are still spectacular.

32mm, so you can't proxy Imperial Assault.

But....

You can have in/scale skirmishes between the Empire and Super Mutants from the Modiphius Fallout game as it's 32mm

32mm? Hmm. Well, when the Walker comes out, we're doomed.

I'm not really into scratch building or futzing around with plaster...that's kind of where my hobby line is drawn. I would rather pay somebody to do all the molding and such.

I'm thinking (hoping) that this is going to be super simple. Far more simple than 40k 8th even. If there is morale, it'll be something really basic. Morale in 8th is great, it's just a die roll when you lose guys versus leadership and whatever buffs, they run or they don't.

My main wish is for a 3'x3' play area (not bloody likely at 32mm unless ranges are scaled down).

I think this has the potential to be something I really like.

First, the movement is simple. You measure the leader figure, then all other figures placed within the leader's proximity.

Then, alternating random activation, but with card-activated units superseding over it.

There is suppression also, although this isn't yet explained.

Unfortunately, I have very little interest in Star Wars miniatures game...

Mike - Alumilite is infinitely better than plaster. It cures within 5-7 minutes per mold and you can bust out entire tables' worth of parts in a day. I don't know if you remember the Halo Interactive Board Game base tiles I used in conjunction with HA stuff I built (for Epic Duels) but the whole thing took me 4 hours to cast and 30 hours to assemble and paint. And it was fucking rad.

Something the kids could do, too. My daughter was all about helping. I gave her a chemistry lesson on it while doing it and she helped design the layout. It's like Legos for grown ass men

Yeah, I'm kinda interested. I wonder how far they can take this? I mean there's really only two factions, three if you count a scum and villainy faction (which I'd probably hold out for). But then I guess they've been milking X-Wing for this long.

Pete, I've seen people do cool things with Hirst stuff, but ain't nobody making stuff like this

I guess they could squeeze a few more factions in if they also include prequel stuff.

This isn't for me at all, but I fear those recent Runewars adopters are gonna be pissed. FFG probably announced this too soon...

Cards make for better sales.

My brain has classified all of FFG's Star Wars stuff into a single bucket entitled "not worth figuring out which is which". The titles are too similar to command their own space. They've really fractured the branding.
